Brazos River Review is an independent literary and art magazine based in San Antonio, Texas.

Our Mission

Brazos River Review is an independent literary and art magazine established and produced by a doctoral fellow at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Founded in Fort Bend County three miles away from the Brazos River in December 2021, the magazine’s purpose is publishing and promoting the works of writers and artists who find inspiration in the American Southwest.

The magazine also focuses on cultivating a readership that appreciates the weird, wonderful visions of this diverse region. Currently operating in San Antonio, the magazine places a special emphasis on the many unique voices heard in and around the Texas Triangle. Printed on environmentally responsible paper, issues are released biannually.
